History
In 1928 WEST INDIA MERCANTILE CO. N.V., WIMCO as it's locally known, was established. Before that it was known as a proprietorship of the founder, the late Mr. Egon Gerstl: Egon Gerstl y Compania.
In the early 1920's and 30's Wimco marketed merchandise as BUICK cars, REMINGTON office machines, CAMPBELL soup, KEDS shoes, MARTELL cognac, HERCULES bicycles and many others.
Adapting to “modern” times WIMCO, entered the electrical household and commercial appliance field. Gaining expertise with the years, WIMCO grew to be the largest appliance store in Curaçao with currently two stores for your convenience.
